Why do operators look for a Cab9 alternative?
Cab9 (CAB 9 Ltd) is dispatch software for private hire and taxi businesses, a product of the software company e9, headquartered in central London. It includes dispatch, iOS and Android driver and passenger apps, client portals and a workshare platform shared with other Cab9 operators. Common reasons to review it:
- Pricing transparency: Cab9 publishes no prices on its website and offers a demo on request.
- Growth and regulation: operators growing into taxi centrals, or working in markets with taximeter, fiscal and tariff rules, need those handled inside dispatch.
- Supplier background: some prefer software built and run by a taxi operator, others a specialist software house.
What are the main Cab9 alternatives?
1. eCabs Technologies
Dispatch and ride-hailing software built for and run on eCabs’ own taxi operation in Malta, which has competed with Bolt since 2017 and with Uber since 2022. It covers dispatch, a driver app, a passenger app in your own brand, phone and AI booking, corporate accounts, open APIs and webhooks, DATEV and SAP Business One exports, and taximeter and German TSE integration.
- Best for: established taxi centrals, co-operatives and private hire operators in Europe moving off a legacy or current system.
- Pricing: published, from €600 a month plus €0.10 per completed trip (Starter, up to 5,000 trips a month), with Professional and Growth plans above and custom Enterprise+ pricing over 30,000 trips. Unlimited dispatcher seats on every plan.
- Switching: eight stages with go/no-go gates and dates agreed after discovery; your current system keeps running until you decide to cut over.
2. Autocab
Long-established UK booking and dispatch provider (GPC Software Ltd), owned by Uber since April 2021. Its main markets are the UK and US, with customers in 33 countries.
- Best for: UK operators who want access to Autocab’s iGo job-sharing marketplace.
- Pricing: not published.
3. iCabbi
Established dispatch provider based in Dublin, with listed regions in the UK, Ireland, the Nordics, Benelux, Iberia, North America, Australia and New Zealand. RCI Bank and Services, part of the Renault group, has been its majority owner since 2018.
- Best for: operators mainly in the UK, Ireland or North America who want a large provider with a long customer list in those markets.
- Pricing: priced per active driver; prices not published.
- Switching: an implementation and migration team, with parallel testing before go-live.
4. Cordic
Dispatch provider (Cordic Ltd) for taxi and private hire fleets. Its website says it is owned by operators, and it runs SuperYes, a network for sharing jobs between fleets.
- Best for: independent fleets that want an operator-owned supplier and a job-sharing network.

5. TBMS
Cloud-based dispatch software (Taxi Base Management System), founded in 2010 and based in High Wycombe, serving private hire, minicab, chauffeur, airport transfer, school run and medical transport operators in the UK, UAE and Australia.

How should you choose a Cab9 alternative?
- Data export: find out what you can export from Cab9 (customers, saved addresses, corporate accounts and their terms, booking history, drivers, vehicles, zones and tariffs) and ask each supplier to review a real sample export before you sign.
- Parallel running: can your current system keep running while a pilot group of drivers moves across, with a clear go/no-go decision before cutover?
- Integrations: taximeters and fiscal units, card terminals and payment provider, accounting exports such as DATEV or SAP Business One, phone numbers and automated phone booking.
- Own-brand app: is the passenger app published in your name, and does your customer data stay the property of your company?
- Pricing transparency: is there a published price, and does it scale per driver, per vehicle or per trip?
- Workshare: the Cab9 workshare network links Cab9 operators, so plan how shared work will be handled before cutover.
How do you switch from Cab9?
With eCabs Technologies the move runs in eight stages: discovery, setup, training, a pilot with a small driver group, expansion in batches, your own branded passenger app, cutover and ongoing improvement. Each stage ends with a go/no-go gate, Cab9 keeps running until you decide to cut over, and each step is tested before the next one begins. Customers, corporate accounts and booking history come with you, from whatever you can lawfully and practically export.
Account customers move across in agreed groups, and phone numbers and call routing are mapped in discovery, so phone bookings are protected throughout.
Operators running on eCabs Technologies include Taxi Fiume in Croatia, which moved after more than ten years on its old system, Volt in Bulgaria, TaxiNow in Germany, Blue in Romania, Taxi.gr in Greece, RooRides in Australia and eCabs in Malta.
