Switching
Keeping the phones ringing
Phone numbers and call handling are planned as their own step of the switch. Your current system keeps taking calls until the agreed cutover, and afterwards phone bookings run through the same dispatch as app, web and corporate orders, with agents booking in under 15 seconds.
Why phones need their own plan
For many taxi operators most bookings still arrive by phone. Losing the phones for even a few hours means lost trips and worried regular customers, so phone numbers, routing and call handling are mapped in discovery and tested before any live change.
Your phone provider comes with you
eCabs Technologies connects to the cloud phone systems taxi operators already use. TaxiNow in Frankfurt runs on Deutsche Telekom CompanyFlex Cloud PBX, and Taxi Fiume in Rijeka and Taxi Barok run on Telemach. eCabs Technologies also integrates with 3CX, and with Sinch for SMS. Other providers are mapped in discovery and tested before cutover.
After the switch
The call-centre screen is keyboard-first, with one view to create and manage bookings and fast address search. Phone bookings sit alongside app and digital channels in one system, so adding digital channels never means giving up the phone.
The phone does not disappear
Taxi Fiume kept its call centre and its customer relationships when it switched. At eCabs Malta, phone bookings fell from 90 per cent of all bookings in 2013 to 15 per cent in 2026 as customers chose the app, while the call centre stayed available for everyone who prefers to phone.
FAQ
Questions operators ask
Will we lose phone calls on the day we switch?
No. Phone numbers and call handling are planned as their own step, and your current system keeps taking calls until the agreed cutover. Phone bookings then run in the same dispatch as app and web orders.
Can we switch dispatch systems without disrupting our operation?
That is what the plan is built around. Your current system keeps running underneath every stage until you decide to cut over, so phones, bookings and drivers always have a working system.
