Parallel running
Running the old and new dispatch systems at the same time during a switch, with clear rules for which bookings and drivers each handles.
Parallel running means operating the old and the new dispatch system side by side while work moves across in stages. Clear rules decide which bookings and drivers each system handles, so no trip is duplicated or missed.
It is the main way to switch without downtime: the old system stays live as the fallback until the cutover decision.
Related: running two systems side by side.
