White-label taxi app: what to check before you choose one

A white-label taxi app puts your brand on the passenger’s phone instead of a shared app or a ride-hailing platform. But not every white-label app gives you the same control. These are the questions to ask.
Is the app published in your name?
Check whose developer account the app sits under in the Apple App Store and Google Play. If it is the vendor’s account, moving the app later can mean losing your ratings and asking every customer to download a new one.
Who owns the customer data?
Your riders’ accounts, addresses and trip history should be your property, exportable in a usable format. Under the GDPR, a provider processing your customers’ personal data must return or delete it at the end of the contract, at your choice.
Does it run on the same dispatch as everything else?
App bookings should land in the same dispatch, pricing and customer records as phone, web and corporate bookings. Two systems side by side mean double work and missed context.
What does the passenger actually get?
Upfront prices, live tracking, multiple stops, business profiles, Apple Pay and Google Pay, in-app messaging and calls that keep phone numbers private are the basics passengers expect today.
How do you bring existing customers across?
Plan the launch: messages to existing customers, materials in vehicles and on your website, and keeping the phone open for everyone who prefers to call.
