eCabs Technologies launches in Australia with RooRides

Operator-first ride-hailing tech arrives in Western Australia.

eCabs Technologies is now live in Western Australia with RooRides, starting in Esperance, one of the state’s most stunning coastal towns, and expanding next to other high-demand destinations. This brings us to seven countries and 18+ cities worldwide. Same mission, new coastline: help local operators launch, grow, and stay independent in markets dominated by global giants.

Meet RooRides

RooRides is built by a team that understands Western Australia’s rhythms: seasonal demand, regional journeys, and visitors who expect capital-city reliability. The goal is clear: redefine local mobility in Esperance first, then scale across the state with a brand locals and tourists can trust.

Alongside the tech rollout, our branding playbook enabled a rapid, low-friction go-live: vehicle livery, driver onboarding materials, app-store assets, signage, and launch collateral shipped as a cohesive kit. That’s why you’ll already see a tight, consistent visual presence on cars and across touchpoints: recognisable, trusted, and ready from day one.

Operator-first technology, built in real cities

Our platform was born in live city operations and hardened across multiple markets. For partners like RooRides, that translates into:

  • Passenger & driver apps that drivers actually adopt and riders keep.
  • One queue across channels (app, phone, business bookings) to lift availability and improve marketplace efficiency.
  • Real-time dispatch & compliance tooling built for regulated environments.
  • Operations analytics that turn day-to-day performance into compounding advantages.

This is the infrastructure that lets local operators deliver a seamless experience in regional markets, without ceding control to a global marketplace.

Australia joins a growing network

RooRides shows what happens when local ambition meets a battle-tested platform and ready-to-ship brand system: fast launch, immediate trust, and the runway to scale on your own terms. Australia is our latest step in a journey that has brought us to seven countries, 18+ cities. And we’re just getting started.

A Smarter Way to Ride in the UK

A major milestone in our international journey, as we expand into the UK with our newest City Partner, Like a Ride.

We’re proud to announce our official entry into the United Kingdom with the launch of our newest City Partner: Like a Ride, a Bristol-born, community-first ride-hailing operator. This marks the sixth European market where our enterprise mobility platform is now live, joining Malta, Athens, Bucharest, Brașov, and Berlin.

This expansion builds on the momentum of our recently completed €18 million technology development programme, a multi-year effort that has resulted in one of the most advanced ride-hailing platforms available to local operators today. Purpose-built for scalability, efficiency, and user experience, the platform is already powering operators across Europe who are ready to digitise and grow sustainably.

Like a Ride is led by Mircea Aron, a mobility entrepreneur with deep roots in the UK sector and a clear mission: to offer a ride-hailing experience rooted in fairness, driver empowerment, and community trust. Drawing on his team’s understanding of Bristol’s transport ecosystem, Mircea saw in eCabs Technologies not just a platform, but a partner offering end-to-end operational support: from seamless routing and secure payments to real-time insights for fleet management.

For us, this partnership reflects everything we believe in. Like a Ride represents the kind of local operator we built our platform for: those who want to do things differently, and who see technology as a tool for better service, not just scale. It’s a collaboration built on shared values: fairness, inclusion, innovation.

The ambitions are bold but grounded. Like a Ride is preparing to serve 100,000 active riders annually, with a network of 500 local drivers completing up to 3,000 rides per day. That vision begins in Bristol but doesn’t end there. Longer-term plans include expanding across strategic cities and towns in the UK, building a network of locally led, tech-enabled ride-hailing operations.

As we continue our mission to support operators in their digital transformation, this latest partnership is proof that there’s a different way to scale mobility; one that’s local first, backed by best-in-class technology, and built to last.

PM Visits eCabs Technologies HQ to Mark International Expansion

A milestone moment as Malta’s Prime Minister recognises the global impact of a homegrown tech company.

eCabs Technologies had the honour of welcoming Prime Minister Robert Abela and Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Public Works Chris Bonett to its new headquarters in St Julian’s, Malta. The visit marked a major milestone for the Maltese technology company, which announced the launch of its shared mobility platform in Berlin, Germany, and Bristol, United Kingdom.

PM visit

During the visit, the Prime Minister praised eCabs Technologies as an exceptional example of Maltese innovation reaching international markets. He described the company’s growth as “evidence of the potential of Maltese companies to excel and compete globally,” and highlighted the importance of institutions like the Malta Development Bank and Bank of Valletta in supporting ambitious tech initiatives.

The expansion follows the successful completion of an €18 million product development programme, one of the largest of its kind in Malta.

With operations now spanning cities across Malta, Romania, Greece, Germany, and the UK, eCabs Technologies continues to provide regulation-ready mobility solutions to complex urban environments. A sixth market outside the European Union is expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

This visit reflects not only a celebration of local success but also a broader recognition of Malta’s potential as an innovation hub for future-facing industries.
