Blue, the Romanian ride-hailing service powered by eCabs Technologies, has launched operations in Brașov, expanding its footprint beyond Bucharest and accelerating its national growth plan.
This latest launch marks another milestone for eCabs Technologies, whose platform is designed from the ground up to enable mobility operators to scale efficiently across multiple jurisdictions. With Brașov now online, Blue is showing what’s possible when local ambition meets a technology platform built for scale.
Blue first launched in Bucharest in September 2023 with a fleet of Tesla Model 3 and Y vehicles and a commitment to modernising the ride-hailing experience in Romania. The fleet has since grown to include Mercedes EQEs, positioning Blue as a leader in the premium urban mobility segment. Backed by Autonom Drive, the country’s largest mobility operator, Blue has quickly earned a reputation for quality, safety, and a forward-thinking approach.
The move into Brașov – one of Romania’s largest and fastest-growing urban centres – confirms Blue’s intention to become a nationwide operator. With a population of over 20 million and more than 11 million tourist arrivals annually, Romania represents a high-potential market. Brașov in particular, with its strong year-round tourism, is an attractive opportunity for premium ride-hailing services.
The expansion also demonstrates the strength of the eCabs Technologies platform, which combines over 16 years of operational expertise with €18 million in investment to-date. The platform’s scalability and adaptability are helping local operators compete in regulated and competitive markets.
